The Western Governors' Association, the Western States Water Council,
From the attached flyer:
The focus of the workshop is on tools for adaptation to climate change and variability, including beginning development of a set of tools that states could use as a standard of practice for climate change adaptation. Specific topics covered in the workshop will include improvements in weather/climate prediction, revised hydrologic design criteria, modification of reservoir flood control rule curves, and risk management techniques. As state and local government entities, as well as private businesses, increasingly explore ways to prepare and adapt to future climate changes, guidelines specific to the water industry are lacking. State water management agencies are uniquely positioned to take a leadership role in establishing such guidance.
The workshop is one aspect of implementing the recommendations in the WGA's June 2006 report, Water Strategies for a Sustainable Future and June 2008 Next Steps report. The latter notes that the "undefined and undefinable climate and other variables mean continuing uncertainty and highlight the necessity of taking incremental steps and the need for adaptive management approaches."

Hi, David.
Please click on "workshop" or download the document for complete information on the workshop. As far as I know it is open to all.
It's not a Federal affair; the sponsors are all state-based organizations.

When and where's the climate change mitigation workshop? Or is that now a federal affair? I guess change is going to happen -- our only option is adaption?
