Another shameless plug for one of my choices for a post in the Obama Administration!
Peter Gleick, White-House-Water-Advisor-in-waiting, and one of the world's leading authorities on water issues, will present his newly released biennial report The World’s Water 2008-2009, the most comprehensive and up-to-date source of information and analysis on freshwater resources and the political, economic, scientific, and technological issues associated with them. His 4 February 2009 (3-5 PM EST) presentation from the Wilson Center in DC will be Webcast.
Issues explored in this volume include peak water and how to meet human water needs sustainably; adaptation measures for a changing climate; updates on Millennium Development Goals methods, data, and reporting; and water threats and solutions in China.
