Shakespeare I'm not, but John Fleck thinks he knows the root of Pat Mulroy's water problems:
A court in drought-plagued Malawi has jailed a man accused of casting a spell that blocked rain from falling on his neighbour’s field, police say.
The court sentenced Chikumbeni Mwanatheu, 35, to two months in prison with hard labour after he admitted a charge of witchcraft, police spokesman Augustus Nkhwazi said.
Mwanatheu had pleaded guilty to a charge of “conduct likely to cause a breach of peace” after he boasted that he had prevented rain from falling on his neighbour’s field, the spokesman said.
Maybe Pat needs to find a baboon.
"Double, double toil and trouble; Fire burn, and caldron bubble
Cool it with a baboon's blood, Then the charm is firm and good."
--William Shakepeare, Macbeth
I find both humor and a bit of truth in this line in the above posting ..."Maybe Pat needs to find a baboon" ... It seems to me that she indeed has her own pet baboon which has been trained to follow her lead in whatever direction she feels in the moment inclined to lead.
Las Vegas has never backed away from a fight and I suspect manipulated situations to provoke a challenge ... indeed its bright lights, glitter and glamor survive on remaining by whatever means necessary in the world spot light. To that end Ms. Mulroy has filled a most necessary need in these currently depressed economic times.
I really wonder what the actual bottom line is for Las Vegas and for that matter much of the desert southwest area like Phoenix, Albuquerque, San Diego, Los Angeles all of which face water conditions as drastic as Las Vegas...?
Devil or Heroine ... Pat Mulroy ... has kept the Las Vegas water issue on page one in bold headlines ... only time will reveal the actual outcome of this maneuvering.
