Welcome to the special Earth Day edition of TGIF! It is quite special, unless you think that T. Boone Pickens calling for action on global warming is not quite special! And agreeing with Ted Turner no less!

"But when oil reaches $400 a barrel, we'll get action. All candidates say if they are elected they will stop our dependence on foreign oil -- but after their election do nothing." -- T. Boone Pickens, National Press Club, 19 April 2011
MICHAEL ...... I respect your perspective ... T Boone's comment raises my antenna looking for the proverbial "trojan" horse ...

Hi, Paul.
Thanks for commenting.
I realize that it's hard to believe one's ears. Surely Pickens will make some money out of this - likely from wind energy and the increased use of natural gas as a 'bridge' fuel.
But I never thought I would hear him speak like this; it borders on a 'road to Damascus' conversion. His right-wing and petroleum credentials add a lot of weight to the support for action on global warming, especially among conservatives and the energy industry.

Taking nothing away from T. Boone Pickens … his calling for “action” on global warming causes me to count my fingers were I to skake his hand … where’s the hook …?
