New Book: Artists Illustrate Scientific Questions

Below is an illustration by Marc Bell from the essay 'What Drives Plate Tectonics', one of 75 in the book, The Where, the Why, and the How: 75 Artists Illustrate Wondrous Mysteries of Science by Matt Lamothe, Julia Rothman, and Jenny Volvovski. The essays were written by scientists; the artists saw the essays but did not communicate with the writers.

I have not seen the book, but you can read about it in this blog post by Annette Heist from the Science Friday blog. You can also read one essay in her post.
