Shill alert: I served on the BoD of UCOWR (2000-2002) and co-chaired its 2002 annual conference. My university belongs to UCOWR.
I thought use of the word 'exposé' might pique your curiosity.
The Universities Council on Water Resources (UCOWR) is one of the best-kept secrets around. It convenes a great annual conference and its Journal of Contemporary Water Research and Education (formerly Water Resources Update) is peer-reviewed and features two yearly themed issues. It also can be freely downloaded. The UCOWR site also a graduate water program directory.
Its staff is headed by friend and colleague Karl W.J. Williard (shown here with staffers Elaine Groninger, Shelly Williard, Jackie Crim, and Melissa Pind), a professor at Southern Illinois University -Carbondale, where UCOWR's directorate is located. Ari Michelsen of Texas A&M AgriLife Research, is the current president.
I promised Karl I would promote UCOWR's upcoming annual conference in Pensacola Beach, FL, 21 - 23 June. It is held in conjunction with the National Institutes for Water Resources (NIWR), with whom UCOWR is affiliated. The Call for Abstracts is now open - submit by 19 January.
As I said before, UCOWR puts on exceptional conferences with some excellent keynoters, invited speakers and timely sessions. They are often held in desirable locations. The one I co-chaired was in Traverse City, MI, in July 2002. So consider a submission!
I thought I would highlight JCWRE's December 2015 issue, with a fascinating, timely topic.
