My friends at the Canadian Water Network released this report on 22 March 2018 - World Water Day: Balancing the Books: Financial Sustainability for Canadian Water Systems.
Although the report addresses Canadian municipal systems I would be willing to bet that municipal systems in other countries, especially here in the USA, could find substantial value by examining the report and its findings. Maybe even implementing them, too!
From the website:
Balancing the Books: Financial Sustainability for Canadian Water Systems was prepared by Canadian Water Network on behalf of the Canadian Municipal Water Consortium to:
- Articulate the elements involved in full cost recovery
- Provide a snapshot of typical financial practices of Canadian utilities
- Highlight the challenges to achieving financially sustainable water systems
- Identify a menu of opportunities to advance financial sustainability
Here are the news release and quick facts.
Download the report here: English or French.
Enjoy!
