Nice examples of vertical & horizontal offsets caused by the Ridgecrest earthquake. 1st picture is 3.75-foot high scarp, 2nd picture is fault rupture across the China Lake salt flat, 3rd picture is aerial view of stream channels moved sideways.

I have started a new daily water newsletter focused on the Southwest US: #SWUSwater. I used Jim Tully's great My Water Daily platform. I have approximated the Southwest by using a 500-mile (maximum allowed) radius circle centered on Farmington, NM. It samples the news in that area. For the other ones I have created - Pacific Northwest Water (#PNWater) and Northeast Water (#NEWater) - I have used 500-mile radius circles centered on Boise, ID, and New York, NY, respectively The Texas, California, and Florida water dailies are created by Jim himself. The #EUGwater Weekly samples a region within 300 miles of Eugene, OR. I did not create it.
