I've known Stuart Smith for a number of years through our memberships in the National Ground Water Association. He's a smart guy who has his own firm, Ground Water Science in Ohio. What I did not know much about was his work in Tanzania to establish a firm that can take care of Tanzania's own hydrogeological needs.
Quite a story!
What I will do here is post a PDF of his three-page article that appeared in the July-August 2022 issue of the AWRA magazine Water Resources IMPACT which I edited.
Here is a link to it:

He's taken the HP concept to a new place - that of jump-starting a firm in a developing country where the locals are significant players. And Stuart was the professor whose 'students' are now running the show!
Phenomanal!
Shout out goes to the Tanzanians who stepped up to the plate and made this a successful enterprise.
Enjoy!
