A few things about the UN 2023 Water Conference:
- Drinks! You all knew this was coming… I’ve been given the green light to organize the unofficial end of conference/beginning of the real work celebration on Friday night. No pressure. I have actually found a needle in a haystack venue that will fit a VERY large group of people. More than we need. But, because it’s NYC, it comes with a price tag that exceeds my capacities. So, I’m looking for sponsors for this event. I have a few already, but still have a way to go. It would bring significant visibility and the water community would be grateful. Please reach out if interested. I do have a plan B, but it’s much smaller. Either way, Friday, 24 March! Details soon.
- World Water and Sanitation Workforce initiative: Josh’s Water Jobs and 18 other organizations are organizing a pre-conference half-day workshop on the 21st on developing a new initiative to assist with strengthening, diversifying and expanding the water and sanitation workforce (water resources management, WASH, wastewater, etc.) to combat their current and future professional and gender gaps. If your organization works on this and you will be in NYC, we do have some spots left to participate. Please reach out!
- Informal participant list: Not to beat a dead horse, but you know the drill. To sign up. To see who’s going.
